Weigh purchases and town conversions against benefits, supply and reserves. A what-if calculator shows what remains after an expense.
Explored map, visible units and possible settlement sites with directions. Saved games remain separate, including across age transitions.
Local rules read your game and update recommendations automatically. Codex is optional. Without an installation, login or available quota, the compass keeps working locally.
Enable the AI coach for personal assessments. Choose model and reasoning effort separately for automatic checks and deep analyses. Keep an eye on quota and reported credits.
Download and run setup. .NET, Node and the WebView2 offline package are included. No developer tools needed.
Check the game connection in the setup wizard. If needed, close Civilization VII and confirm the displayed UIDebugger change; a backup is created. Then launch the game and load a save.
The compass reads data and shows your plan. You make every game move yourself. AI is off for new installations and can be enabled in the app.
Closing minimises to the system tray. Updates are checked and downloaded at startup and every six hours. Installation and restart happen only after your confirmation. Windows startup is optional.
Not for local advice. The optional AI coach requires a supported Codex CLI and your ChatGPT login. The ChatGPT or Codex desktop interface does not need to stay open.
The tool reads offers and unlocks from your current game across leaders, civilizations and ages. Base-game and DLC data is read from the game. Unknown mod effects are displayed but are not presented as reliably calculated. The rules do not fully cover every specialised strategy.
No. The compass does not control units, make game purchases or set game values. Hidden opponent information is not used for advice. The one-time connection setup is shown before any change.
Companion snapshots, plans and settings are stored locally under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Civ7Rundenkompass. An analysis package is sent to Codex/OpenAI only when you enable an AI analysis. This download website receives no game data.
The credits switch is off by default. It checks quota before every analysis and stops when quota is exhausted or unknown. An analysis already running can cross the boundary. It is not a hard billing cap; no credits are purchased and no resets are redeemed.
New in 2.2: scroll navigation, separate AI models, quota display, DE/EN, system tray and verified updates.
